Information Technology-Credentials to Careers (ITC2) - Iowa Western Community College
Through the Information Technology (IT) academic programs, the ITC2 project will significantly build training capacity at IWCC in order to meet industry workforce needs, spur economic growth through entrepreneurialism in this area and identify and scale up research based strategies for recruitment, retention, and completion of women and racial and ethnic minorities in these fields. The ITC2 initiative incorporates new online learning formats to dramatically expand education and training access to students. In addition to obtaining work-ready skills through access to state of the art technology, students will have increased access to programs outside traditional schedules, including remote online projects to validate learning competencies. Program strategies are designed to address skills relevant for current and emerging high-demand, well-paying IT occupations in IT and non-IT industries.
This project is made possible through a grant from U.S. The Department of Labor (DOL) Trade Adjustment Assistance Community College and Career Training (TAACCCT) Program. The evaluation is supported by U.S. DOL TAACCCT Grant No. TC-25176-13-60-A-19. These grants help community colleges to enhance education and career training programs that prepare students for employment in high-wage, high-skill occupations.
