RISE presents on developing a scale to assess effective mentoring at ICERI in Seville, Spain

Mari Kemis, Brandi Geisinger, and Arlene de la Mora, of RISE, in conjunction with Raj Raman, an ISU faculty member, presented the article, "Developing a scale to understand the key actions of effective graduate student mentors" at the International Conference for Educational Research and Innovation in Seville, Spain. This work focused on the process of item development and used exploratory factor analysis to examine pilot data which was obtained from graduate students who were completing a degree during the summer of 2015. Results suggested three components of effective mentoring including attitude, engagement, and accessibility.
