Iowa Character Counts!

 
Fall 2005, the Institute for Character Development (ICD) contracted with the Research Institute for Studies in Education (RISE) at Iowa State University to conduct an evaluation of the Iowa Character Counts! Initiative. Working with the Iowa Character Counts! Coalition, the Institute for Character Development provides statewide leadership on implementation and sustainability issues related to character development projects to K-12 school districts, families, businesses, and community organizations. Assessing the impact of either a 2-day open or 2-day on-site training session on the implementation and effectiveness of the Character Counts! Program at selected Iowa elementary and/or middle schools was the primary objective of the evaluation. A contract is being finalized for the phase two multi-year evaluation to begin in the Fall of 2007.
