Evaluation of Advanced Placement Incentive Grant

 
RISE is the evaluator for the three-year Advanced Placement Incentive (API) Grant in selected Des Moines Public Schools (DMPS) middle school advanced science courses. The intent of the evaluation is to examine whether students show changes in attitude toward science, increases in science achievement, increases in enrollment by low socioeconomic status, and differences from students in regular science classes. The effectiveness of professional development opportunities for participating teachers of advanced science classes is also evaluated to show how they change their teaching methods. RISE will continue to work with the API grant program through October 2008.
