Iowa Parent Information Resource Center (PIRC) Grant

 
The Iowa Parental Information and Resource Center (PIRC) Grant funds a collaborative initiative between Iowa Area Education Agency (AEA) 267, the Iowa Department of Education, School Administrators of Iowa (SAI) and Tri-County Child and Family Development Council. The initiative is based on the belief that if parents, educators and community stakeholders understand and have skills to support parent engagement, children will be more successful in school and in life. The initiative is intended to build capacity by providing professional development to administrators, teachers, community stake holders and parents about parent rights/responsibilities and effective ways to engage parents in their child’s learning at home. RISE contracted to coordinate and conduct the evaluation of the 2004-2006 Iowa PIRC grant and continued as the evaluator for the newly awarded 2006-2011 grant.
