The Flexible Faculty Career Study
|
The Flexible Faculty Career Database project, funded in part by an Alfred P. Sloan grant, was a joint effort by the Iowa State University (ISU) Office of the Provost and the Office of Institutional Research to design new ways to track how improved tenure-track flexibility at ISU affects faculty productivity, retention, and work/life balance satisfaction. This project used institutional data to examine whether any savings realized by improved faculty retention justify the costs of providing tenure-track flexibility at ISU. A report is in the final draft stage and will be released in the 2007-2008 academic year. Data collection will be ongoing over the next few years to identify trends.
