Evaluation of the Marketing and Food Systems Initiative
|
The Leopold Center for Sustainable Agriculture at Iowa State University supports research and education efforts in Iowa and accomplishes its work through three initiatives—marketing and food systems, ecology, and policy. In 2006, the Marketing and Food Systems Initiative (MFSI) funded 25 projects that focused on its three main objectives of researching and testing new marketing strategies and business structures, supporting education and partnerships that support local and regional foods, and conducting research to address challenges in food-related value chains. Through personal interviews with project directors, RISE conducted an evaluation of these projects to examine how the funded projects supported reaching the overall goals of the MFSI.
