Active Schools in Active Communities

 
The Story County Healthy Lifestyle Taskforce led the Active Schools in Active Communities project to provide opportunities for area youth to be physically active both in and outside of school. Partners in the project included Mary Greeley Medical Center, Iowa State University Extension, parks and recreation organizations, and other community groups. Activities included the recess-based Mileage club, VERB Summer Scorecard, Walking School Bus, and communication with Story county residents. RISE and ISU faculty member Greg Welk (Kinesiology) serve as project evaluators.
