Bio

About

I am originally from Des Moines, IA. I started work with RISE as a Graduate Research Assistant in the fall of 2015, and as a Research Scientist since 2018. I have previous experience working with children, youth, and families in schools and in social services. Additionally, I have served two years as an AmeriCorps member with City Year in Seattle, WA as a school mentor and team leader.

Research Interests

My research interest include: educational and non-profit program research and evaluation, with an emphasis on STEM and agricultural education initiatives; qualitative and quantitative research methodologies; feminist, empowerment, critical, and participatory action research inquiry and epistemology; gender studies and inequalities.
